Extreme Kayaking Racing is an extension of running bigger and better whitewater. Typically held on grade 3-5, this is a full-on race which requires technical skills and confidence. Extreme Racing is either a sprint or a longer distance race, and in this way is similar to wildwater racing, but the craft are PE creek kayaks, which allows the participants a little more ability to manoever and correct lines and moves, as well as being more readily accessible to the general public…
Canoes Plus Kayak Club run clinics designed to get you into Extreme kayak Racing,......if this is your jam.... But you will need to hone your whitewater skills first.
Races in Australia include the King of the River / King of the Fling; the Lea Extreme Race and the Snowy Extreme Race.
There are also races Overseas including a New Zealand Race Series and a Worlds Series and World Championship Event.
