Character:

Park at Morwell River Falls Reserve and walk 200m to the river.

This is a short, lap-able run with easy access to the river.

The main feature is a 6m Waterfall with a deep pool. This is best-run center-river left as there is a ledge that sticks out on river right. 200m Downstream is another rapid that falls ~4m total. Unfortunately, storms have caused a large tree to collapse and block this rapid from being run.

The main fall can be lapped easily using a rope to haul boats up the far right side of the falls at low water, or a short 5-minute walk back up the track to the top of the fall. The higher the water level the better as the lead in at less than 1.0m is shallow and rocky, however, the falls have been paddled as low as 0.5m.

Paddlers should be aware of trees and wood that collect in the pool at the base of the fall. The pool is best checked for new timber before paddling, but all the wood is usually deposited away from the landing at the far end of the eddy.

Below these falls is another double stage waterfall with each drop/ slide approx. 3m in height. This is also a great run at water levels above 1m, and is accessible via the tourist track next to the falls.

The third falls are more of a small drop approx. 1m in height and not worth running.
