RUNNING CREEK - JACKS FALLS

Running creek descend off the plateau near molesworth, in to the Goulburn River. Most of the creek is reedy and travels through farm land, but the upper reaches are quite spectacular. At a higher water flow some off the drops would be well runnable, however, the majority of the creek is characterized by a huge boulder field, and steep sharp drops.

The creek tends to run over granite slabs, and then under huge bus and shed sizes boulders, dissapearing only to reappear below and go over a cliff into a nice pool. The entire section is probably only around 2.5km long but drops around 100m in that distance.

The creek is the site of Jacks Falls - the falls at the top of the section near the road, but the creek boasts many other waterfalls, but these ar emore inaccessible and require some bouldering and climbing. there are also long jams which as to the complexity.

I would not recommend paddling this in any serious form, as it would most likley result in injury or death at higher water.

Jacks falls is located on Running Creek, off the Molesworth- Dropmore rd
