HOLLAND CREEK - UPPER SECTION

The upper section of Hollands Creek is quite narrow and bound by bush and brambles. The easiest section to paddle is from the bridge down to the Ford. This section boasts a great waterfall ( slide type) and other drops. The shuttle is fairly long and I would recommend a 4-wheel drive if you don't want to walk too far.

Paddling this section is possible at very low level but would be infinitely more fun at a higher level, above 1.4 at Wrightley.

The Slide-type waterfall is about 1/2 or about 1km from the put in at the bridge across Reds Rd and should be scouted beforehand. There is a huge log jam across the river at the bottom, and while the waterfall is runnable, it may be hard to avoid this jam at really high water levels. This entire section is only about 2.5km in length and a great run in fairly inaccessible forest.

Use the Gauge at Wrightly as an indicator for river level, But probably best after local rain.
