Description:
There is an easy put in at the River track near Catherine station, approx 20m from the Abbeyard Rd. There is a nice eddy and leads straight into some moving water and small grade 1 rapids. The entire river is essentially drop - pool with many good grade 2 rapids with wave trains and great surfing waves. ear Abbeyard, there is a small gorge type section with big boulders forming some great grade III rapids over larger drops. This would be fun ride at very high water.
Leaving Abbeyard the river moves away from the road and is a long section of larger grade II, smaller grade II and flat pools. Fantastic scenery and a great paddle. The section is about 10km and you will have to portage a few trees along the way.
The take out is at Tea Tree campgroud which is easy to spot and has a good egress point.

Great paddle with a few grade 2 drops and potential grade 3 dependent on water level,
A great small river with fantastic scenery and clear water. About 1/2 way there is a grade 3 drop at low water, and could be quite a nice play spot at higher water.
There were no trees or problems, and the river follows the abbeyard rd for most of the way. Camping is plentiful and are nice campsites.
